Over the past 25 years, Daniel Kerr’s international educational career has seen him serve in senior leadership roles throughout schools in China, Ecuador, France, and most recently, in Saigon, Vietnam. As a leader, Kerr focuses on inspiring his staff to embrace their own potential as leaders, cultivating a culture of collaboration and support, and providing plentiful professional development and leadership opportunities. Under his guidance and with enthusiastic participation by teachers, the school embraced a focus on Inquiry Learning, transforming curriculum and introducing more experiential learning initiatives, while also focusing on data-informed goal setting and teacher instruction. Kerr also overhauled the school’s early childhood curriculum with a similar focus on inquiry learning and supporting student voice, choice, and ownership. Intensive visioning sessions with teachers and consultants led to the construction of an inspiring new outdoor learning space that replaced the traditional playground, curriculum focused on creativity, outdoor education, and play-based learning, and ultimately, a high-enrollment early childhood program that now serves as an inspiration and learning lab for schools across Europe. Kerr has also spearheaded a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative, whose work has resulted in important conversations and transformations to curriculum. Kerr holds a B.A. from Dalhousie University, a B.Ed. from University of Maine at Fort Kent, and an M.Ed. in International Education and Leadership from Endicott College and has served as an adjunct professor with Endicott College over the past several years.
